The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o, on March 1, 3013 in Yaounde, made an inspection tour to the "Atemengue plateau" in the precincts of the Ministry where a four-storey building is being erected to host services of the Secretariat of State in charge of Ex-servicemen and War Victims (SED/CAC-VG). The visit took the Minister and close collaborators to all the floors of the building where he inspected work done in the special project of the Head of State to the military as promised in Bamenda in 2010 when he chaired celebrations marking the Golden Jubilee of the Armed Forces.

The Minister praised the country's military Engineering corps through the contracting work supervisor, Lt.Col. Jackson Kamgain for honouring the work plan which is one week ahead of schedule. The project that began in late November, and is expected to last six months is 55 per cent complete. Work on the basement is already 85 per cent done while the last floor was undergoing decking at the time of the second visit of the Minister. The building is spread on 1400 square metres of land and totals 29 offices, two conference halls, one waiting room, one store, and 31 toilets. The structure has taken into consideration the need for the disabled to seek for services thus being built with special prescriptions.

The bills are footed by a special credit from the Head of State and the Defence boss said "the Armed Forces have its share of 'Greater Accomplishments' which are underway." The Minister explained that such projects are just at its genesis and more are to come. Near the edifice will be constructed another structure of the ministry to host the follow up and maintenance of major equipment building.

He announced the corps' determination to tackle another project in Sangmelima and Garoua where the Head of State recently created the command posts regiments for the Military's engineering corps
