The Ministry of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT) has signed an agreement with five councils in Cameroon towards the technical application of the Labour Approach Project (HIMO).

The objective of the agreement signed on 11th November 2014 is to encourage local council officials and municipal councillors to prioritise the HIMO method in realising socioeconomic infrastructure in their localities, especially roads.

Signatories to the partnership agreement included the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi and the mayors of the five selected councils: Ombessa, Ndom, Sangmelima II, Okola and Baham.

Minister Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi notes that the agreement will ease accessibility to expensive machines, add value to local resources, reduce costs and support the redistribution of revenue collected to residents.
