MINMIDT and the Cameroon Mining Federation agree on a new partnership

The Cameroon Mining Federation (FMC) has met with top officials of the Ministry of Mines, Industries and Technological Development (MINMIDT) to seek ways of developing the mining sector in the country.

The delegation from MINMIDT was led by Minister Emmanuel Bonde.

During the sitting on Monday 10th November 2014, the FMC President Emmanuel Mbiam and his delegates tabled several proposals:

-A move from amateurism to industrial exploitation which will help increase the State budget.

-Reformulation of the Mining Code in Cameroon, in order to facilitate the acquisition of exploitation permits which will ease negotiation with international partners.

-Creation of a development fund for industrial mining to help increase the Ministry’s budget.

-Production of geological cards for investors.
