The Minister of External Relations, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo has received the Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister, Wang Yi.

Minister Wang Yi arrived Yaounde in the evening of Monday 12th January 2015 for a four-day working visit to Cameroon, as part of his Africa tour.

The Chinese Minister was guest at MINREX this 13th January 2015, where he took part in a working session with discussions centred on security issues and international relations.

During the sitting, Minister Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo called for further strengthening of cooperation ties between Cameroon and China.

Mr Wang Yi then faced the press for a few minutes and was later received in audience at the Star Building and at the Unity Palace by Prime Minister, Philemon Yang and Head of State, President Paul Biya, respectively.

Minister Wang Yi’s visit is in line with an over two-decade-old Chinese tradition of its Foreign Affairs Minister visiting African countries at the start of the year.

Minister Wang Yi has been Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs since March 2013.
