The winners each received a laptop, a modem and free access to the internet over a period of twelve (12) months.
The MTN Foundation and the secondary education Department gave out on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 awards to the winners of the contest of National IT savvy teacher and ICT Integrator.
This was during a ceremony at the Lycée Technique de Nkolbisson in Yaoundé, presided over by the Minister of secondary education and Professor Ebenezer njoh Mouelle, Member of the Board of Directors of the MTN Foundation.
The National Contest of the best IT savvy teacher and ICT Integrator had been launched in May 2014 by the Ministry of secondary education (MINESEC) and the MTN Foundation.
It was open to all teachers of second cycle education in Cameroon, with objectives like: motivating other secondary school teachers to emulate this trend, regardless of their disciplines, in the use of ICT; raise the taste of research in innovative teaching methods and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of quality Education.
The projects submitted to the competition were assessed by a jury chaired by the Coordinator pedagogical inspector responsible for the MINESEC computer and composed of two (02) members of the MTN Foundation and two (02) representatives of MINESEC.
At the end of an objective evaluation of projects, the Minister of secondary education made public via news release N° 0001/14 MINESEC/CAB of September 18, 2014, the list of ten teachers, who will be honoured during the 2013-2014 school year, by their contribution to the improvement of learning by integrating ICT into the methods and techniques of teaching.
