The inhabitants of "Biscuiterie" in Biyem-Assi, a neighbourhood in Yaounde had a rather disturbing night on Thursday October 18, 2012. Reports say, Maurice Ndongmo, 42, a driver with one of the transport agencies in town was found dead in the home of his girl friend, Marie Noël S.Y, 39.

Eyewitness accounts say Maurice Ndongmo who drives along the Yaounde-Dschang highway called Marie Noël at about 11:00 p.m. on Thursday and told her that he would arrive her home later in the night to spend the night with her.

Marie Noël, a bar tender, said when he arrived at 2:00 a.m. on Thursday he complained of back ache and refused to eat the food that was kept for him. After taking a bath, both went to sleep. Maurice woke up at 5:00 a.m. complaining of some malaise. He asked for water to bathe again at 6:00 a.m. Marie Noël got some water for him to bathe while she warmed his food. But after having his bath, Maurice refused eating saying he was not feeling sound.

He was supposed to go and check on the vehicle while Marie Noël left for her job. When she returned home at midnight, she found Maurice Ndongmo lying on the chair, motionless. She then called for help from neighbours who immediately informed elements of the 13th Police station in Melen. Marie Noël is presently in police custody while investigations are going on.
