A mother who alleges her ex-husband paid doctors to lie about results proving that he had sexually abused their six year old daughter is demanding justice.
The woman, who had been married to her husband for four years and had three children, also accuses officials of being in collusion with her husband who is a businessmen in Douala.
According to one report, the ordeal began when the little girl went to visit her father following her parents’ divorce. A passing neighbour, who says she heard a child crying and went over to investigate, allegedly witnessed, to her horror, the sexual abuse between father and daughter taking place.
When the woman arrived to pick her daughter up the neighbour revealed what she had seen. When the mother asked her child what had happened she confessed everything. Stunned by news of defilement, the mother returns from Douala and takes her daughter to Chu Hospital in Yaoundé to conduct examinations, where results supposedly confirmed that the small girl had actually been sexually abused by her father.
For greater certainty, the mother then went to the Yaoundé Central Hospital to repeat the same tests and the results came back positive again. The man however claims his wife is making up stories because of their divorce proceedings and demands for the tests to be repeated in his presence. This time results showed the opposite and doctors said it was a simple infection not rape.
"I know my husband very well. He paid these doctors to not tell the truth," she insisted.
