A man in his thirties known only as Musa, from Misaje, Donga-Mantung Division, Northwest Region, recently stabbed his wife’s ‘boyfriend’ in Dumbu.

It is reported that Musa, while visiting his wife who works in Dumbu, bumped into her room and found her with another man whom Musa identified as his neighbour in Misaje.

Musa suspected foul play, after knocking on the door repeatedly without any response, but heard murmurings coming from the room. Infuriated, Musa broke open the door and stabbed the man thrice on the head with a knife as he struggled to escape.

In an attempt to defend herself, the wife got wounded on the hand. The man succeeded in escaping; leaving behind his motorcycle, which Musa had hidden before breaking into the room.

Musa was later arrested and detained.

In a statement at the Misaje Gendarmerie, Musa’s wife defended her husband and refuted allegations that her husband used a knife on her boyfriend.

According to her statement, the man wounded himself in an attempt to escape.
