The nursery is the fruit of a research carried out in the USA and in Cameroon on the Ebony tree that grows in Cameroon because of its virtues in the making of guitars.

According to Bob Taylor, a US based manufacturer of some of the world finest guitars, on a working visit to Cameroon the special presents unique features that are ideal in the making of the musical instrument.

He has opened a factory for the processing of guitar parts locally. He said as his coming grows, the forest is dwindling and he intends to engage in domestication of the Ebony tree to ensure its sustainability. He also wants to ensure that ethics and legal procedures are respected in the exploitation of the Ebony.

The project has been supported by the African Agro-forestry centre that has carried out sufficient research on selective reafforestation of the species.
