Mbalmayo robbery operation foiled

Elements of the central police station in Mbalmayo successfully frustrated a robbery operation in Mbalmayo. The incident took place March 11, at Mbalmayo, where a group of thugs tried to rob the Express Union Agency.

One of the robbers was shot dead during the exchanges between thugs and the police. Two other bandits arrested in front of the Agency were in possession of an axe, pliers, and other weapons. The third was found hiding in the ceiling of the Agency.

Among these thugs was a disabled man of about 29 years, parent to one of the robbers.

Moreover, the ceiling of his home served as a hiding place for the weapons of the band. The last accomplice, the security guard of the money transfer agency, fled the scene before the arrival of the police.

The killed bandit was identified by the Commissioner of police as the perpetrator of the murder of a young man from the city of Mbalmayo in December 2014.
