Public Works Minister, Patrice Amba Salla, left administrators and mayors of Ndian, Manyu and Meme Divisions frustrated recently, when he failed to show up in these Divisions for a working visit as earlier announced.

Amba Salla ended his visit in Fako Division meanwhile the people of Manyu, Meme and Ndian divisions were expecting to meet him and table their road problems.

It is alleged that the people of Ndian Division had contributed money, prepared food and mobilised dance groups to receive the Minister but were informed in late in the evening that the Minister will no longer make the trip to Meme, Manyu and Ndian Divisions as earlier planned.

This, was not taken lightly by the people of these divisions as council administrators, in particular, complained that they have spent money in cooking food, buy drinks and transport the population in order to give the Minister a warm welcome before they present their problems.

Also, traditional dance groups appeared exhausted and disappointed after entertaining for the whole day while waiting the Minister.

The people of Ndian were expecting that the Minister’s visit will be an opportunity for them to get first hand information from the Minister on the situation of a 6Km road project awarded in 2011 for the Balue road to the tune of FCFA 85 million including bridges and culverts.

According to the people of Ndian, their greatest nightmare is bad roads as they still carry cocoa on their head from farm to market since the roads are worst.

To Chief John waseh Nabongo of Balue Chiefdom, it is sad to know that, there is no information available concerning the said road.

He disclosed that his people till date still remove corpses and carry on their heads separate from the casket due to bad roads.

“... What do I tell my people? How long would we continue to carry dead bodies on our head and the coffins separately? I am really disturbed and need answers to give my people on the situation of our roads". The traditional ruler noted.

The food and the drinks prepared to welcome the Minister was finally eaten by the population of Ndian Division who showed up for the occasion.
