The Director General of MIDENO has stated his preparedness to help develop Menchum Division.

In the face of regular calls for the defunct Wum Area Development Authority (WADA) to be revamped; the governor of the North West Region, Adolphe Lele Lafrique, has inspired inhabitants of Menchum division to acknowledge the death and burial of the erstwhile agro-industrial facility and stand by new development facilities to take the division forward.

The visiting governor to the defunct WADA Farms and infrastructure in the neighbourhood of Wum, did not mince words on April 8, 2013 when he told available traditional rulers and elite that WADA is now history and Menchum should learn to accept it and develop with the North West Development Authority (MIDENO) which oversees rural development activities in the North West Region.

It was against this backdrop the governor told them about opportunities to develop and progress with Phase II of the FCFA 19 billion Grassfield project and the way forward to improve living standards for livestock and fisheries farmers when a unit of the FCFA 26-billion worth North West Livestock and Fisheries Development Project (LIFIDEP) will be planted in Menchum.

On hand, the Director General of MIDENO, John B. Ndeh stated the preparedness of MIDENO to stand by the development of Menchum division. He advised against suspicion, blackmail, misunderstanding and petition writing which do not help matters in efforts to give the division a chance in development and progress.

John B. Ndeh said he was around on the instruction of the government to carve out land from the defunct WADA farmlands to settle the divisional unit of LIFIDEP; a project that is around for poverty alleviation and development.
