Merk donates mini laboratory to Chantal Biya Foundation

The visiting chairman of the German chemical and pharmaceutical company, Merck Kgaa Dr. Frank Stangerberg Havercamp in a working visit to Cameroon, has been received in audience by Public Health Minister, Andre Mama Fouda.

During the audience, the company and the Ministry of Public Health signed a memorandum of understanding on health campaigns to treat Bilharzia in children and to empower local health professionals to handle some ailments.


Apart from reiterating his company's intentions to endow local health personnel with appropriate skills to detect and treat diabetes, the visiting Chairman reiterated the company’s intention to deploy mobile pharmacy to detect fake drugs.

After the audience, the Minister of Public Health Andre Mama Fouda accompanied the visiting company chairman Dr. Frank Stargenberg-Havercamp, to the Chantal Biya Foundation where he was given first hand information on the workings and projects being realized in the foundation.


During discussions, Mrs. Habissou Bidoung, outlined some of the desires of the institution. Before the august quest left the Foundation, he made one promise; that a mini laboratory shall be donated, this will arrive the foundation in the days ahead.
