The ambassador has just discovered he has fake accounts on Facebook and Twitter.

The Cameroonian football legend, Roger Milla, filed a complaint against X with the Cameroon judiciary recently for identity theft on the Internet and especially on social networks.

“I, Albert Roger Milla, just found out that there are unauthorized persons who are holders of Facebook, websites, and other Internet media on behalf of Roger Milla or Albert Roger Milla, and pose as me. (…)

Given this situation, I declare being owner of no Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp accounts, or any website, apart from those for the exclusive use of my Foundation (Cœur d’Afrique – Fondation Roger Milla), “said the ambassador in a statement published in Cameroon Tribune, the government daily newspaper.

The worst according to Roger Milla, is that “these people use the internet media to incite the population to revolt following the unfortunate incident that occurred last weekend in Laquintinie Hospital in Douala.”

He wants to reassure users, fans and people who may have been offended by the content of these pages of Facebook, Twitter, etc … that he is not liable for any statements contained therein and has never posted messages calling for mobilization around Laquintinie hospital in Douala.

The criticized Facebook page of Roger Milla exists since 1 July 2014 and 17 March 2016 brings it to nearly 11 200 fans. Web specialists are curious whether it’s only now that the famous Cameroonian striker notes that this is a fake account on Facebook.

Before him, the ministers Basile Atangana Kouna, Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo’o and several members of the Government had also reported being a victim of identity theft on social networks.
