Minister Pierre M. Mbonjo grants audience to three diplomats

The minister of external relations, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo has granted audience to the ambassadors of China, France and the High Comissioner of South Africa to Cameroon.

The Minister of External Relations, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo has granted three separate audiences to the Ambassadors of China and France, and the High Commissioner of South Africa to Cameroon.

The First audience was granted to the outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon, His Excellency WoRuidi who came to say adieu to the Minister at the end of his diplomatic sojourn in Cameroon.

At the end of the discussions, the Ambassador of the People`s Republic Of China to Cameroon told the press that it was a farewell meeting with the MINREX Boss, because he will be returning to China before the New Year.

The diplomat thanked President Paul Biya for the absolute peace and hospitality he fully enjoyed during his stay in Cameroon. He also said it was a forum to thank the President for the release of ten Chinese hostages in the North of the country.

The ambassador of France in Cameroon, Her Excellency Christine Robichon, was the second to be received by the Minster of External Relations, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo.

The French diplomat in a meeting with the press said their discussions were centred on fighting terrorism in the country. She said Cameroon and France share longstanding military and defence cooperation thus the need for periodic evaluation and exchange.

MINREX boss ended the day with the South African High Commissioner to Cameroon, Her Excellency ZaneleMakina on the subject of strengthening ties between South Africa and Cameroon.

She further indicated a meeting to take place in the days ahead in South Africa between senior officials of South Africa and Cameroon.
