Minsante launches family planning project in Cameroon

Minister of public health André Mama Fouda recently proceeded in his Department, to launch the project Evidence to Action (E2A).

The project will be implemented by Medical Health Service (MSH). The presentation made by Léa Monda, Adviser to MSH, seeks to strengthen family planning in Cameroon. The project especially targets girls and also intends to ensure the follow-up of post birth in women.

Speaking at the occasion in the presence of development partners, the Minister said that family planning remains a major concern for the Government. The national policy document of the population in its version of 1993 fixed a specific goal, promote and facilitate voluntary access to family planning services to ensure the control of fertility espacially through the establishment of these services throughout the national territory.

Despite the recorded achievements, much remains to be done recognized André Mama Fouda, before adding: "it is due to this that the Cameroonian Government welcomed with great joy and enthusiasm this project."
