The remains of the body of the girl missing from the Logbaba district hospital was reportedly buried in the place of another.

After five days of searching, the family of Emilienne Ngo Batchama, 4-year old, now have an idea of the whereabouts of the remains of their child who disappeared from the mortuary of the Logbaba district Hospital Thursday, August 7, 2014.

"Investigators have revealed to us that the body of my niece was buried instead of a six-year-old girl, in a village in the Department of the Lékié," said Ernest Yamben, the uncle of the deceased.

The family of the six-year-old girl had made this confusion during the removal of the remains of their child, a day before that of Emilienne. “Le sieur Ngono, head of this family, revealed that, they found out that this was not the remains of the daughter at the time of burial but they were forced to bury it because they had no money to return it in Douala," says the Uncle.

Ernest Yamben stated that they will go down this week, to this village to exhume the body of their daughter and burry her in their village at Hegba in Nyong-Ekellé.

In the meantime, investigations are ongoing to find out the exact cause of this confusion. Two undertakers, one from the district hospital of Logbaba, as well as Mr Ngono have currently been kept in police custody by Commissioner of public safety of the 11th District of Douala.

"We want to know what really happened. There is the need to understand why and how this confusion took place," the police questioned.
