Mixed reactions have continued to trail the reported killing of some members of Boko Haram by the Cameroonian security forces last weekend.

The former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Professor Tam David-West, has described the killing as an indictment on Nigeria which claimed to have declared total war on the sect members.

David-West who spoke Daily Independent in a telephone interview further stated that the country has nothing to cheer about it because it is an indictment that would create more challenges for us in the country.

"If you monitor the operations of the sect members, you find they launch more attacks on the people any time there is an information disclosing the number the members killed by Nigerian security forces," he said.

David-West warned that the country might witness major attack as a result of the disclosure by Cameroonian government.

He maintained that the disclosure by Cameroon that several members of Boko Haram were killed was not done to help the government of Nigeria but intended to make mockery of our President and the entire security system in the country. He urged the country to be discreet in information management so that the insurgent members would not have more opportunities to attack and kill innocent Nigerians.

But the former President, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja branch, Barr. Onyekachi Ubani, described the action as a welcome development.

"Now that our neighbouring countries appear to be cooperating with Nigeria in the fight against terrorism, I believe the country will be able to fight the war," he said.

He urged the security forces in the country not to relent in the fight against Boko Haram and other security challenges facing the country.
