Mysterious fire incident kills one in Bepanda

Only the legs of 85-year-old Pascal Tadjennang were touched by the fire.

Inhabitants of Bepanda neighbourhood in the Douala V municipality are still under shock after a mysterious fire incident killed 85-year-old Pascal Tadjennang on the night of February 15.

According to report from the 7th District Police Station in Bepanda, only the victim’s legs and bed were consumed by fire. “Not even the walls of the house nor the zinc were touched by the fire,” an official said.

Back at the incident scene, dwellers attribute Pascal’s death to witchcraft since the fire did not touch his entire body and burn other valuable properties in the house. His corpse has been deposited at the Deido Hospital Mortuary.
