The International Centre for Environmental Education and Community Development, ICENECDEV, is mobilizing forces to fight against deforestation on Mount Cameroon.

The knowledge and skills acquired during the workshop is intended for income-generating activities in the fields of ecotourism, agro-forestry, beekeeping and the production of fuel-efficient stoves so that socio-economic livelihood in the forest region could be improved.

The members who represented their various groups during the workshop were to take back the knowledge learned to their various communities through outreach and environmental education in schools where there are expected to preach against poaching and reduce dependency on wood consumption.

Speaking at the workshop, the Coordinator of ICENECDEV, Eric Fongoh, reiterated that civil society organisations, youth groups, associations and the |Government are more of collaborators and partners in development, rather than competitors as is the case of some regions in Cameroon.
