Nana Kontchou talks business with government officials

The Minister of the Environment, Nature Protection and Sustainable Development, Hele Pierre has received in audience the General Manager of the new electricity corporation, Eneo, Joel Nana Kontchou.

During the audience on 14th November 2014, the Eneo boss disclosed that there shall be an imminent drop in the price of electricity.

The new rate will be effective from 2018.

Minister Hele Pierre and Joel Nana Kontchou also spoke on other electricity-related projects including the creation of a company to transport energy in the country, as well as the construction of the Nachtigal dam and a 50 megawatt gas power station in Logbaba.

Both parties also discussed environmental issues amongst them, the supply of electricity through solar energy and the replacement of 40 percent of worn out wooden electric poles.

This, the Eneo General Manager says, will help ensure safety in the transmission of energy while preserving the environment.
