Ndian supports defence force against Boko Haram

The people of Ndian Division, in the South West Region of Cameroon, on March 7, 2015, demonstrated their unfading support to the Head of State, President Paul Biya and the military engaged in the fight against the Boko Haram terrorist group in the Far North through a patriotic march.

The march that was organised by the Divisional Youth President of the Cameroon National Youth Council (CNYC) for Ndian Division, Esono Wa-kemba Nganya, brought together administrative authorities, senators, members of parliament, religious and traditional rulers and members of the civil society.

The over 300 people marched through the streets of Mundemba Sub-division led by the Senior Divisional Officer for Ndian, Chamberlain Ntou’o Ndong carried placards with messages denouncing violence, terrorism, tribalism and the call for unity in the fight against Boko Haram.

Talking to the Press after the march, the SDO for Ndian lauded the initiative of the Divisional Youth President of CNYC to have organised such a march as has been in other parts of the country.

He noted that the patriotic march is very important especially during a period like this when Cameroon is facing major threats to its peace and stability.

“With a patriotic march, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Paul Biya, as well as our army and our brothers and sisters of the Far North Region, who are affected by the war, are very assured and encouraged that we are strongly behind them. With one spirit and togetherness, we will be able to conquer Boko Haram,” the SDO noted.

Meanwhile, the Divisional Youth President, Esono Wa-kemba Nganya, expressed gratitude to the population for their massive turnout to show their strong support to the soldiers.

The participants at the march appreciated the Divisional Youth President of CNYC Ndian for giving them the opportunity to join their voices to that of the entire nation, to show to the army that they are strongly behind them in the fight against terrorism.
