Ebang Mve Urbain Noel was installed Monday and tasked to step up non-petroleum revenue.
Finance Minister, Alamine Ousmane Mey, has enjoined the entire officials of the ministry to rally behind the new Secretary General so that together government can step up non-petroleum revenue, successfully round off the ongoing transitional budget and have a promising take off with the programme budget come January 1, 2013. The Minister made the appeal on Monday September 17 while installing the new Secretary General of the Ministry, Ebang Mve Urbain Noel, appointed Friday September 14 to replace Jean Tchoffo who moves to the Ministry of Public Contracts in the same capacity.
Alamine Ousmane Mey told the new SG that he was coming in at a time government has embarked on wide-ranging reforms to modernise and step up revenue collection in the country. The 2012 fiscal year is drawing to a close and finalisation is being done for the preparation of the 2013 results-based State budget codenamed "Programme Budget." The Minister enjoined the Secretary General to handle files with all seriousness to attain maximum results.
