New-born baby buried alive in Douala

A pastor of the "Assembly of Christ" and five of his faithful have been detained at the commissioner of public safety of the 17th district of Douala since Monday, September 9, 2014.

Members of the Assembly of Christ church located at district Pk20 in Douala have been accused of having buried alive a new-born male on Friday, September 5, 2014 at PK23.

According to a police source, the pastor, Paul-Michel, 47 years, explained that Jeannette, the mother of the newborn, confided in him that the child she was carrying in her womb was a "child sorcerer".

"During her pregnancy, the young girl made members of her church believe that she laid with different men in her dream every day. That is why they decided to kill the child", the source revealed.

On Wednesday, September 3, 2014, Jeannette, 24 years old, gave birth to a baby boy in a house located not far from the church. Informed of this delivery, a few faithful of the church decided to get the baby and bury it "child sorcerer", under the order of the pastor, Paul-Michel.

Two days after, the child was buried in the Pk 23neighborhood, a faithful who was present at the time of the child's birth says that she realized that the new-born strangely resembled the pastor. Hence, "48 Hours after, she did not see the child of Jeannette, she sensed that something had gone ", said our source.

The faithful then reported to the commissioner of public safety of the 17th arrondissement. The pastor, Jeannette, as well as four faithful was indicted on Monday, September 9, 2014. After investigation, they admitted they had committed the said crime and went to show them where they buried the new-born.
