Nigerian refugees said they feel threatened by Boko Haram although they have found refuge in Cameroon. The HCR is obliged to move them from their hideouts for their safety.

HCR, an agency under the United Nations charged with taking care of the refugees made it known that 5000 Nigerian refugees were to be moved from Fotokol, located at the extreme north of Cameroon.

This decision is as a result of the of the trans-border attacks of the Islamist rebels, Boko Haram. The refugees are said to have fled Gambaru Ngala border in Nigeria.

The HCR already relocated more than 8600 refugees the Minawo camp due to the attacks that have intensified over the past two weeks. Even though the Cameroonian army has controlled rebellious attacks, safety still remains unstable.

Authorities in Cameroon since the inception of the crisis in Nigeria announced the arrival of 43,720 Nigerian refugees even though 26,720 refugees were recorded by the HCR. According to unknown sources, the living conditions of the refugees are not favorable.

The refugees as reported were sheltered in only 57 classrooms with 2500 children occupying 14 classrooms. When it came to food, the Nigerian refugees mostly got food from some of the citizens and authorities.
