The mysterious death of the Cameroon internationally acclaimed footballer, Nicolas Nkoulou’s father which occurred at the end of last week has started a lot of rumours.
According to the widespread information, Michel Nkoulou was found dead in his vehicle in the early morning of July 10. Some reports have gone as far as linking the death to the poor performance of the Indomitable Lions during the World Cup in Brazil.
He was also very popular in the district of Mfou, where he was a traditional chief, and had been spotted there several times after the Lions return. The first uncertainties were raised last Friday from Camfoot, who reported: “The circumstances of his death remain unclear.
According to a police source in the city, he reportedly died of a disease. Meanwhile, a local radio announced that he died as a tragic accident. They said that his vehicle caught fire. Meanwhile there is an ongoing investigation by police to determine the cause of his death.”
Now many questions have been raised over the authenticity of the sites report after they confirmed that there was no current investigation into any fatal fire as reported earlier on. Now, questions such as; who found the body and the vehicle burned? Were there any remains of the deceased? What unit of police is responsible for the survey? remain unanswered.
According to family members, on the day Mr. Nkoulou died he dropped his wife off at the market and said he was going to Mbalmayo to visit a friend. Later, he called his son to tell him he was on the road to Okola and that he was not feeling well.
His body was then recovered from the scene and taken to a hospital in Yaoundé, in critical condition. He was later transferred to the General Hospital where he later died.
