"Complete your work of registering voters within the remaining five days. Take everybody and work for the CPDM to continue leading the race in the voter registration operation." This was the recommendation His Majesty Fon Angwafor III, the First National Vice President of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, CPDM who doubles as the North West CPDM Regional Chairman of the Supervision and Support Committee to boost the recompilation of the voters' registers, during the regional evaluation meeting in Ndop on February 23. He was welcomed by the Ngoketunjia CPDM Divisional Committee Chairperson, the Director of the Prime Minister's Cabinet, Professor Paul Ghogomu Mingo.
Statistics from Elections Cameroon, ELECAM, read out during the registration evaluation meeting chaired by Fon Angwafor III indicates that as at February 23, 2013, five days to the end of the registration operation, the North West Region had registered 426,438 voters out of the targeted 693,000, scoring over 61 per cent. Statistics per division showed that Boyo has 41,678 registered voters, Bui 84,921, Donga Mantung 67,927, Menchum 35,146, Mezam 118,130, Momo 38,298 and finally Ngoketunjia, 40,335 registered voters.
The CPDM First National Vice President expressed satisfaction with registration results so far obtained and also made projections into CPDM supporters registered. He stated categorically that he would not take the pleas of some party officials to the Head of State, Paul Biya to extend the registration period, insisting that those who had not yet registered had the remaining five days.
Professor Ghogomu Paul during the Ngoketunjia Divisional evaluation meeting he chaired earlier the same day, called on traditional rulers to fully collaborate in the registration operation, recommending proximity mobilization and personal contacts with people who had not yet registered. He expressed happiness that divisional registration projections show CPDM supporters in a leading position.
