Workers in the road safety department of the Northwest regional delegation of transport are highly suspected of corruption.

They have seized over 921 computerized driver’s licenses from rivers of transport vehicles in the region and taken them to the office of the regional delegate, yet none of the owners of the licenses has been indicted for driving without the document.

This disclosure was made known to Daybreak recently by the Northwest regional delegate for transport, Mbehou Yaya, in an exclusive interview with this reporter.

“The drivers cannot be driving with the cardboard driver’s licenses because this type was banned in the country since March 2014. So how are they driving without licenses and go scot-free?” the delegate wondered.

Visibly annoyed, the delegate suspected that workers of the road safety department in his department are collecting bribe from the road users which are why none of them whose drivers licence was is lying in his office has ever been arrested.

He promised to sanction any of the workers who would be caught receiving bribe from drivers.
