Notorious criminal nabbed in Douala

André Fréderic Gougth a notorious criminal who has been causing havoc in the littoral region has been arrested.

His target was generally traders until recently when he started breaking into the homes of spare parts dealers.

Fed-up with this degree of insecurity, victims alerted security officials of the Anti-Criminal Brigade in Douala.

Following an investigation, André Fréderic Gougth was apprehended.

He was caught with three guns including two automatic pistols, 200 cartridges, a pair of military footwear and uniform, and a consignment of stolen spare parts.

At the Judicial Police in Douala, investigators sought to know if he belongs to a gang or he commits the crime singlehandedly.

This arrest comes at a time when security officials are overwhelmed with growing insecurity caused by the influx of refugees into Cameroon’s territory due to scuffle with the Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram.
