The Chadian President was yesterday received with all honours on arrival at the Yaounde Nsimalen Airport by his host, President Biya.

The Presidential plane carrying the Chadian leader, Idris Deby Itno touched down at the Yaounde Nsimalen International Airport yesterday when it clocked 10:54 am. President Paul Biya, his host who had arrived at the Presidential Lounge a few minutes earlier, immediately went out and moved to the foot of the plane where the two Statesmen embraced themselves before allowing the little Fabida Wandji Tchoumba to offer a multicolour bouquet of flower to the visiting President.

The stage was well set to give the Chadian President, a reception worthy of the Head of State as translated by the mounting of the combined military contingent composed of elements of the Presidential Guard, the Gendarmerie, land, marine and air forces as well as the police; all placed under the command of Col. Assoualai Blama. As one would have expected, the population accompanied by dance groups from the Mfoundi and Mefou Afamba Divisions were on hand to grace the occasion. The Chadian community in Yaounde found it another occasion to see and if possible shake hands with their President.

All went according to plan with all protocol respected. After welcoming President Deby at the foot of the Plane, President Biya introduced some of his closest collaborators, among whom were, the President of the Senate, Marcel Niat Njefenji, Speaker of the National Assembly, Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, the Prime Minister Head of Government, Philemon Yang, the Minister of External Relations, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo, the Minister Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh and the Director of Civil Cabinet, Martin Belinga Eboutou. Also present at the foot of the plane to receive President Deby was H.E Yoossem-Kontou Noudjiamlao, Chadian Ambassador to Cameroon.

After paying their respect to the flag and the singing of the National Anthems of the two countries, the two leaders went ahead to great the national and international constituted corps in Cameroon after which they retired into the Presidential Lounge where they had a brief tête-à-tête before taking off for the Hilton hotel.
