Number of missing minors rising in Briqueterie, Y'de

According to families, the number of minors missing in this district of Yaoundé has increased.

Since last month, Briqueterie has witnessed a series of abduction of minors. According to testimonies from the families, fifteen children are reported to have disappeared. All are very young children, aged between two and five years. Similarly, these children are abducted during the day for reasons yet to be discovered.


Young Hadiza, two years of age was reported missing on July 09, 2014, at 1 pm and similarly Barema Lucas was also missing on that same day at 17: 00. "That day, eight children were reported missing", attests a source. Till this moment fifteen children have been reported missing at in a few months and several sources encountered have confirmed the figure.


Moreover, by walking in the district, search posters plastered on poles and walls can easily be spotted out. In this situation, what does our security services do? The gendarmerie brigade of Tsinga, which depends on the District Commander, Mfondoum Dairou, said they have not received any complaints in this sense, but is aware of the situation.

He however promises that his unit will work on the issue. Meanwhile, in the lobby of the police station, two search notices draws the attention of many. It's a family living Briqueterie looking for their child, Souleymanou, declared missing in 2013 and the other, Mohamadou, 2 years, who was also declared missing.


Families in this situation seem to be restless. They go from mosque to mosque asking the imams to pray so that Allah provides solution to the situation.
