The regional campaign team led by Gilbert Tsimi Evouna was in Esèka on September 20, 2013.

The battle in the Nyong and Kelle Division, Centre Region, is between two-long time competitors-the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) and Union des Populations du Cameroun (UPC.

It is announcing tough in this part of the country with the two parties, leaving no chances to have control over legislative seats and councils. Since the kick off of campaigns, banners of the CPDM and UPC have taken the division hostage, floating in major strategic road junction, all with the aim to woo supporters and have their votes cast in their favour.

But the ruling CPDM has vowed to maintain leadership by having full control of the region's three legislative seats which have been in their control and the 10 councils which before now they controlled eight and shared one with the UPC. As part of strategies put in place by the CPDM, the party's campaign team leader for the Centre Region, Gilbert Tsimi Evouna and his arsenal was in Esèka, Nyong and Kelle on September 20, 2013 with one message- vote for the party Chairman, Head of State, Paul Biya through the CPDM lists and guarantee the onward implementation of the "Greater Accomplishment" programme.

To succeed in all, Tsimi Evouna told party bigwigs and supporters that their campaign should be based on efficiency, responsibility (individual and collective) and proximity. He described their first winning argument as being for their National Chairman and Head of State, the second for national achievements and the third for the party's vision for the country. "I therefore challenge you to find appropriate words that fit into all of these as we strive to conquer."

The divisional campaign team leader, Catherine Bakang Mbock told the regional campaign commission for the Centre that the proximity approach had been chosen for a sweeping victory for the party come September 30 twin elections. Meanwhile, "The Nyong and Kelle must be united to benefit and enjoy from the development train of the Head of State's "Major Accomplishment" programme," she urged, promising victory for the party. She took time off to present the six flag-bearers of the division for legislative elections.
