OIC strongly condemns suicide attack in Bodo

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned in the "strongest terms" the suicide attack committed by elements of the terrorist group Boko Haram in Bodo, northern Cameroon on January 25, 2016, which claimed the lives of 32 people and injured 84 others.

OIC Secretary General, Iyad bin Ameen Madani, expressed his sincere sympathy with the Government of Cameroon and his condolences to the families of the victims of this horrible incident, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded and expressing his solidarity with the Government of Cameroon in its fight against terrorism.

Madani reiterated the OIC's principled position against all forms of terrorism and extremism, which stand as a major threat to all Member States and to international peace and security.

He called for the activation of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) established by Member States from the region to counter Boko Haram's terrorist attacks.
