Officials Drilled On Civic Service Techniques

The National Civic Service Agency for Participation in Development is embarking on a programme to train 7,000 volunteers nationwide. It is in this light that a two-day workshop to train trainers for volunteers in the Centre Region opened in Yaounde on Monday July 14, 2014. The workshop was opened by the Centre Regional Delegate for Youth ad Civic Education, René Bertrand Ahanda.

The workshop is led by experts from partner ministries such as the Ministry of Arts and Culture, the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry, the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education. The Head of the Regional Antenna for the Centre Region, Ata Mvogo Ernest said a total of 1,275 volunteers aged 18 to 40 years will be trained in the Centre Region. He explained that the youths will be trained in their communities in groups of five persons for a period of six months.

They will be trained in different domains such as forestry, livestock and civic education. Apart from the volunteers the other group that will be trained consist of youths between 17 to 21 years drawn from schools in the Centre Region. The workshop aims at mobilising the different participants in the training process in the 2014 session in view of having a common vision of the training objectives. Organised by the Department of Mobilization Guidance and Training of the NCSAPD the workshop brought together participants from the Centre Region.
