A donation consisting of large dustbins, wheelbarrows, scrapers, shovels etc was given to Olembe hospital on Wednesday 24th December 2014.
These sanitation equipment were presented to them to improve the treatment of hospital waste. These donations received by the leaders of the Olembe district hospital.
Serge Aimé Kamwa, the Deputy Managing Director of GRACAM called the donation a Christmas gift from GRACAM, a construction company in Yaoundé. The donation which is valued at one million Cfa F. GRACAM is known for the operating a quarry and dealing in building materials in Yaoundé.
Dr. Elysée Yadati, Director of the hospital, thanked GRACAM for the gesture which he stressed will be very useful to the establishment. "The treatment of garbage is a soft belly of the hospital institution and if this issue is mismanaged, it can even expose workers to additional diseases, "argued Dr. Elysée Yadati.
This donation, according to the representative of GRACAM, is part of the plans of environmental and social management in its pursuit of hygiene, safety and the environment, the riverain populations are occupying a place of choice, he said.
