A rush for the word of God, healings and miracles at the Omnisport Stadium in Bepanda, Douala, left one dead and many others wounded on October 21, 2015.

The evangelisation crusade, organised by a Nigerian Pastor, Johnson Suleman, witnessed a stampede at about 1am that resulted to the death of a woman in her early 50s, while several others were wounded.

The commotion according to eye witness account was as a result of thieves who attacked participants who spent the night in the stadium preparing for next morning service.

The dead deposited at the Deido District Hospital Mortuary is yet to be identified while some of the wounded were rushed to the same hospital, the Laquintinie Hospital and the Military Hospital.

One of the victims, Mbu Comfort, who travelled from Kumba to receive healing through the Pastor, sustained a fracture on the right tibia while four others left the hospital to their various homes yesterday.

After the stampede, over 60,000 people still attended the crusade of Pastor, Johnson Suleman of the Omega Fire Ministry the next day. Hundreds of sick persons, mentally ill, lamed and childless women thronged the stadium in search of solutions.
