The Government of Cameroon, indicated that the city of Douala must become in 2025, a capital of reference in Africa. Thus, Paul Biya and his Government indicated that they will mobilize by then, more than 1500 billion CFA FRANCS, according to the figures revealed by a study of the urban community of Douala (CUD).

The new master plan of the port city which will be the subject of discussion and adoption during a Community Council, includes, among others, the establishment of new neighbourhoods, development of urban roads, the modernization of transport infrastructure, water, public lighting etc.

"It is the question of modernising our economic metropolis, which happen to be the main gate of entry and exit and main economic 'lungs' of Cameroon with more than 75% of the industrial fabric of the country," said Fritz Ntoné Ntoné, Government delegate at the urban community of Douala.

To bring together 1500 billion, the State will have to pay a lot of money and partners must reiterate their support towards the development of the country.
