The Supreme Court as at October 4, 2013, had received and pasted up more than 40 petitions.

The September 30, 2013 local council and parliamentary polls have come and gone, but the scars are yet to disappear as some political parties are crying foul over election malpractices in certain areas of the country, calling for total and or partial annulment of the polls.

The Supreme Court, acting as the Constitutional Council, has so far received more than 40 complaints from both the ruling and opposition political party leaders and candidates that participated in the elections. Almost all notice boards at the Supreme Court were on Friday October 4, 2013 filled with long complaints filed with the court. The Chief Registrar, Appolinaire Koe Amougou, while taking stock with his collaborators on what had already been put up, revealed that some 35 complaints were already pasted up, with close to ten others awaiting the same exercise. He however said the number as at press time on Friday at 2 p.m was tentative.

Most of the complaints are for the partial or total cancellation of election results in some constituencies, while others are calling for the rejection of rival candidates. Cecile Gainsom Kamseu, the CPDM list leader for the legislative election in Wouri East, Douala in the Littoral Region, for example wants results in the constituency cancelled by the Supreme Court. She argues that the poll was marred by irregularities. The SDF, on its part, has petitioned against the CPDM list leader in Menchum South Constituency, Richard Wallang. SDF list leader for the area, Elizabeth Kang Nsih, is praying the court to disqualify Wallang's candidacy, alleging that he is an ex-convict.

Aya Paul Abime's People's Action Party, describes the election in the Manyu Division of the South West Region as marred by colossal irregularities and so must be annulled. Anicet Ekané's, Manidem, has lodged a complaint asking for the annulment of polls in the Moungo South Constituency of Littoral Region. Other parties like the National Union for Democracy and Progress (NUDP) want the same action in Mayo Tsanaga North and South constituencies of the Far North Region, Logone and Chari of the same Region and Mayo Rey in the North Region, amongst others.

The National President of 'Action pour le meritocratie et l'Egalité de chance,' (AMEC), Joachim Tabi Owono, wants elections cancelled in Mbalmayo in the Nyong and So'o Division, Centre Region for misconduct. Meanwhile, authors of the plethora of litigations at the Supreme Court are eagerly awaiting ruling on them.
