PAMOL donates motorbikes to fight insecurity

PAMOL has donated four motorbikes to help the Ndian authorities contain the disturbing phenomenon of insecurity in the division.

While handing over the motorbikes to the Senior Divisional Officer of Ndian, Babila Akaou, recently, the PAMOL Interim General Manager, Mekanya Charles, stressed that the bikes are to ease the fight against criminality in the Division.

He said the PAMOL administration has a lot of concern for the population reason why the company deemed it necessary to donate the four bikes so as to ease circulation in the area. The beneficiaries were the Police, Gendarmerie Escadron and the Company Commander for Ndian.

Receiving the gifts, the SDO for Ndian congratulated the PAMOL Management for the wonderful gesture which according to him has come at a time when the fight against criminality is at its peak.

The SDO then called on the security officials concerned to make good use of the gifts. ''These machines are not for private use, they are meant for the purpose for which they are intended and that is to comb the area in order to track down criminals."

In another development in Mundemba, the President of PAMOL Employees Union, Bongo Jonas, during Labour Day, said for Cameroon to be able to emerge by the year 2035, she must be able to have health facilities in all her localities and for PAMOL; they must have healthy workers who are effective.

He called on Cameroonian workers and Ndian Division in particular to voluntarily go for HIV screening.

He further recommended that health personnel should go into the hinterlands and conduct free HIV screening to the local population.

Mr Bongo Jonas also appealed to the administration not to relent effort in ensuring that the anti-retroviral drugs are always available in all hospitals.

Meanwhile, he pressed that Ndian hospital should all be equipped with CD4 Count Machines for screening.

The President however congratulated the Interim GM, Chief Mekanya Charles Okon on the changes that have been put in place in PAMOL.

The President said it has not been all bed of roses as there is a dire need for a medical Doctor in the PAMOL owned Lobe hospital.

It should be noted that 29 PAMOL meritorious workers received labour medals. The occasion was graced by match pass, traditional dances and choral singing.
