The Parliamentary candidate for Buea Urban, Rudolf Lyonga, condemned the water crisis rocking Buea as the party launched campaign activities.
Shortages of water, high electricity bills, bad roads, unemployment, high prices of basic commodities in the markets was the worry of the Parliamentary candidate for the People's Action Party (PAP) candidate, Rudolf Lyonga, as the Party launched campaigns ahead of the twin elections.
Speaking to militants of the Party that turned out in their numbers at the Molyko Omnisport stadium, Rudolf Lyonga said all these things will be in the past tense if PAP carries the day. He said the ruling CPDM Party has failed to deliver the goods to the population and its time for another Party to come in and serve the people of Buea .
The Party that will deliver the goods, he said, is only the PAP. According to Lyonga, all the problems enumerated can be redressed through a vote for the PAP come 30 September 2013. When in charge of Buea, he said, the constituency will witness economic growth, foreign investment will be encouraged, there will be the creation of more jobs and poverty alleviation.
PAP supporters were told to use the September polls as an opportunity to sanction the ruling CPDM Party and take over the municipality and constituency that, they say, has been marred by bad governance over the decades. There was a call for all the supporters of the PAP not to fall prey to gifts and intimidation from their opponents. Rudolf Lyonga advised party militants and sympathizers that they shall not go to the polls with empty hands. " You need your voter's card to be able to change Buea and Cameroon for good. Those who have not yet collected their cards should run to ELECAM offices and collect them," Rudolf Lyonga cautioned.
