The Synod Clerk of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC), Reverend Fochang George Babila has officially opened the Presbyterian Music Workshop this 20th July 2015 in Kumba.

The workshop organised by the Music Development Programme of the PCC is scheduled to run till Sunday 2nd August 2015.

While addressing participants, the Synod Clerk expressed the desire for the training to move from just voice and modern instruments to African traditional instruments as well.

Rev Fochang George hailed the Director of the programme, Victor Epie Ngome and the facilitators for their effort in promoting the music ministry of the Church.

He apologised that the PCC did not finance this year’s programme but promised continuous financial support in the years to come, as has been tradition.

The Director, Victor Epie Ngome on his part, explained that the major innovation this year is the laying of emphasis on more practical than theory.

The music seminar taking place at the PCC Church Centre in Kumba is a non-denominational yearly rendezvous during which music lovers spend two weeks upgrading their skills in the domain.

The training has eight levels to be completed within eight years.
