The Presbyterian church in Cameroon(PCC), in a bid to make its own contribution towards nation building, has through the Department of Lay Training and Evangelism headed by the National Secretary for the department, the Reverend Fomuso Sama Jacob and in collaboration with PCC foreign partners Mission 21 organized a workshop for some fifty motor bike riders in Bamenda.
Taking place at the Presbyterian Church Center Mankon, the workshop was aimed at empowering these motor bike riders civically, morally, and economically.
Talking on behalf of Missions21 Mme Jessy Mbock Eben called on these motor bike riders to look and each other and as well as their passengers with eyes of love.
She also cautioned that they should be prudent and always remember that Mission 21 cares.
Lord Mayor of the Bamenda ? council Balick Awa Fidelis who was adequately present during this workshop could not hide the fact that he was extremely happy with the PCC for coming up with such an initiative, which he said was a timely one.
He went on to call on these bike riders not to look down on the role they play in society hoping that through this workshop they would be able to have a certain degree of discipline in them which will in turn bring about change in society.
Workshop participants received lectures on issues such as the requirements of the ministry of transport for motor bike riders, law and order, health, and economic empowerment.
As a means of telling this bike riders to ride with caution each of them were given helmets at the end of the workshop.
Also present and taking part during this workshop was the Reverend Jum Ignatius Moderator’s Representative in the North West Region and also Director of the Church Centre Mankon, and also present was a representative of the Senior Divisional Officer of Bamenda.
