Formal rebuttal of allegations published in l'Epervier newspaper that Prime Minister, Head of government, has tendered in his resignation to the Head of State.

"The newspaper L'Epervier, in its 138th issue of 22 August 2012, published an article in French captioned "Philemon Yang tenders in his resignation to Paul Biya" which claims that "the Prime Minister reportedly tendered in his resignation letter to the President of the Republic last month."

His Excellency Philemon Yang, Prime Minister, Head of Government of the Republic of Cameroon hereby informs the Cameroonian public opinion that the allegations made in that newspaper are and remain untrue.

Since his appointment as Head of Government on 30 June 2009 and subsequent reappointment on 9 December 2011, he has been resolute and loyal in discharging the weighty mission assigned to him by the Head of State, His Excellency Paul Biya.

Never has he contemplated resignation nor at any given time initiated correspondence alluding to such a move.

Prime Minister Philemon Yang assures the national and international community of his attachment to the policies defined by the Head of State, His Excellency Paul Biya, to whom he reaffirms his fidelity.

Consequently, he urges all Cameroonians to remain focused on the Greater Accomplishments programme defined by the President of the Republic and implemented by the Government that he leads."
