Parliamentarians Presented Functioning of the House

A two-day Open Door Days for Parliamentarians ended on November 19, 2013.

The Members of the National Assembly of the ninth legislative period now know the different departments of the Lower House of Parliament, their missions in enabling the people's representatives accomplish their duties of legislation and control of government action and where to address their respective needs. All these is thanks to the two-day Open Door Days for Parliamentarians organized at the Ngoa-Ekelle Glass Palace on November 18 and 19, 2013.

Each department had an exhibition stand parliamentarians visited and got information on their missions and functioning. Ready to provide the MPs with needed information were officials of the Department of Protocol, Questor's Service, Coordination Department, Department of General Administration, Legislative and Linguistic Department, General Technical Services Department, Documentary Information, Budget and Emolument, Accounting Unit, Parliamentarian Flat , Stores Service and Training Centre for Parliamentary Administration.

Opening the event on behalf of the Speaker of the National Assembly, one of the Vice Presidents, Hon. Datouo Théodore said the occasion was intended to enable MPs discover the National Assembly. He equally wished to see the event meet the expectations of the people's representatives.

The Secretary General of the National Assembly, Victor Yene Ossomba presented the departments and other services, stating that they were grouped under legislation, administration and logistics and finally finance. He further promised the permanent availability of the administration to help MPs effectively carry out their duties.
