Patronage of inferior electronic devices rife in Cmr

According to Charles Booto a Ngon, Director general of the Agency for standards and quality (Anor), "40 to 60% of light registered, in recent years in Cameroon are poor electrical equipment: bulbs, electronics, cables, meters and even electrical installations are done in a sub standard manner.

In reality, the standards observed in virtually all sectors of the economy in Cameroon are not good.

To remediate and enforce the rules, Anor has made an undertaken in more than a week of consultations with stakeholders in various economic sectors.

Following the undertaking, the structure received on Tuesday a visitor Françoise Rauser, executive Secretary of the country's affiliate to the International Electro-technical Commission program (IEC), which provides facilities to member countries for the adoption of international standards, especially Electro-technical material.

Cameroon through Anor consented to a better standard since 2011. The IEC disposed off 700 international standards for established and affiliated States to choose 200 standard for the nation.

When reporters contacted the DG of Anor, he explained how its structure intends to enforce the standards.
