Peculiar events in Douala over the weekend

The following events made news around Douala over the weekend: 11 packs of cocaine were impounded; two were arrested for breaking into a car; two escaped jungle justice; three corpses were discovered in three neighbourhoods.

Jacques Baboule Nongol, 30-year-old, has been detained at the Central Police Station N° 2, Logbaba, Douala, for keeping 11 sachets of cocaine and attempting to steal 200 plastic chairs in the Bassa neighbourhood.

Meanwhile at the Dakar neighbourhood, Biwole A. and his accomplice, Olinga C., both 20 years, were caught by the 8th District Public Security Police for allegedly destroying a parked Toyota Prado near Carrefour CCC, and for stealing a bag containing a laptop, two IPad, a digital camera, many USB keys and a huge sum of money.

On the other hand, Um Napoleon, 30 and 22-year-old Ibrahima Swaibou are the fortunate suspects to have escaped jungle justice.

Um Napoleon was rescued from an angry crowd by the 7th District Public Security Agents at the Cité Sic Dakar.

Meanwhile, 22-year-old Ibrahima was caught harassing a young girl in Dakar near the Bonaloka entrance. He was rescued by the 8th District Pubic Security Police Station.

The corpse of an unidentified man of about 40years looking tortured was discovered at Government Bilingual High School, Nyalla at 7 am. His remains were left at the Laquintinie Hospital Mortuary.

A 38-year-old topographer- Chemeza Corentine, was found dead in her brother’s house at the Mbangue neighbourhood at 11 am. Onlookers suspect that she must have set herself ablaze given that a bottle of fuel was found beside her roasted body.

The last corpse was the body of a 40-year-old man commonly called Papaya discovered at 12 noon at Bonaloka.

The remains were taken to the Laquintinie Hospital Mortuary.
