Police constable killed in training session

Police Constable Maréchal de logis Bekono has been shot dead during a weapon training session in Yassa on Wednesday, November 19, 2014.

This incident occurred during a shooting range located in the Yassa, west of the city of Douala.

According to an eyewitness, a Gendarmerie in his grouping at a training session was operating his weapon without prior instructions from his superiors, the gun thus mistakenly fired and hit Constable police Maréchal de logis, Bekono.

The victim’s body had been deposited in the mortuary of the Hospital of the military garrison of Bonanjo whereas the defaulter has been placed in custody at the Gendarmerie post at the Littoral.
