In service to the Commissioner of public safety of Mokolo, the police officer engaged in an activity of a different kind while the administrative unit in which he worked is plagued with recurrent incursions of Boko Haram including the most recent, on September 21, 2014, caused the death of 41 civilians and Constable Lidjeck Réné in Ldamang and Lding-ding located in the vicinity of Tourou.
Particularly sensitive since they concentrate the bulk of the activities of the sect in the sector, Tourou is therefore naturally under attention of the defence and security forces.
The sub-prefect of Mokolo, Théophile Nguia Beina, has even been forced to reactivate the vigilance committees with, machetes, jackets, whistles, boots and batteries to support the defence forces or give warning in case of need.
Members of one of these multiple committees of vigilance, equipped with their new material, put an end to the actions of the peacekeeper Cyrille Montegue.
"He was driving Nigerians at the border even though it was closed, when him and his clients were stopped by members of a vigilance Committee.
"The ongoing investigation will determine if he is a network of members of Boko Haram exfiltration," said a source close to the investigation.
The police officer probably underestimated the temerity of the members of the vigilance Committee.
The members of BIR, surprised by the "police work", immediately arrested him and took him to Mokolo.
