In May, at the mini-Summit in Elysée Palace (France) a declaration was made. A declaration which many believe has giving rise to a global combat plan against Boko Haram as President Paul Biya had officially declared war against the Islamist sect which is raging in the far - north of Cameroon. However, the Army Chief had warned that the fight would be long because as per his words, "We are dealing with a perverse enemy, lawless, who attack even at night".
As in any war, there are victims on both sides. A few weeks ago, several soldiers and gendarmes sacrificed their lives in defense of our homeland, Cameroon. As a result of the condolences expressed by the head of State and rendered to the families of soldiers who died at the front by the Minister delegate at the Presidency in charge of defence, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o, noted that it must be said that today, it is the family of the forces of defence and the whole Cameroon which express their sincere compassion and praise the high sense of duty of these fallen heroes.
In this show of support, political parties also rendered their part of condolence. As a single man, the political parties do not condemn the attacks by members of the Islamist sect and called for an all-out war to defeat Boko Haram.
