Political tension surges in Cameroon around the issue of Boko Haram after some Ministers and members in the centre of the country have openly accused Northern officials of being complicit in the Islamist movement.
The first salvo in this exchange of weapons between officials came from a document circulated on August 31 entitled "The call of the Lékié", signed by Ministers, MPs and other senior staff from this Department.
In the document, the tone and the words denounce without paltering "accomplices of Boko Haram, mainly in northern Cameroon," and incentive strategy to the partition of the country.
Further, the firebrand suggests a total war against people who agree to play a role of passive accomplice or facilitator of the Boko Haram sect, regardless of their professional status or social position at the national level.
Thus directly indexed, officials in the grand North of Cameroon immediately responded through the president of the National Assembly Cavaye Yeguie Djibril.
In a press release and on behalf of the populations and elites of the North, he announced that they are false allegations and say no to any attempt to 'rwandisation' of Cameroon.
These reactions and feedback directly were brought for adjudication to the attention of President Paul Biya, freshly back from a stay abroad.
